Our Story
Primarily, we are coffee roasters so at Lot Sixty One it all starts with buying the best green beans fresh from the current harvest season from farms from different parts of the world. We sample roast and grade our beans and conduct quality control to ensure the utmost quality. Our beans are then hand roasted locally on our Giesen roaster, to celebrate the unique flavours of the coffee produced by the farmer. As roasters we have the great opportunity and responsibility to return gratitude to both coffee growers and coffee drinkers. There is no auto-pilot with craft roasting. It is both an art and a science.
WHAT WE DO
We roast our beans twice a week at our roaster, which is currently based in the Hard Rocks Business Center in Burmarrad. We deliver our coffee beans the same week to a few establishments and our own Coffee Bar in Valletta and St Julian’s ensuring maximum freshness. You wouldn’t find our coffees on the supermarket shelf, or on every other shop front that claims to sell the best coffee. We take great care to source and roast the best beans we can find, we have a good time doing it and love to share our passion with coffee drinkers. At Lot Sixty One we are constantly innovating and seeking the latest and greatest way of brewing coffee, sharing our knowledge and passion with our partners and consumers, giving them the skill set to make or consume great tasting coffee on a consistent basis.
